Design style: French Country

Decorating: Jordan by Design.

Scope of Work: Full remodel of the master suite, kitchen and breakfast areas. The house had major settling problems in the living room and dining areas (including the stone fireplace) due to a long-term, undetected plumbing leak. We were able to level the house with almost no damage to the interior finishes, while stabilizing the foundation.

Description and Details: Keeping its original footprint, this 1940's Westwood home was artfully renovated, maintaining its original style, while adding many modern amenities. The kitchen and breakfast rooms were both gutted and reworked, adding new beams and wanes coating, new Dutch doors and beautiful handmade tiles from Ann Sacs. The original steel constructed cabinets in the kitchen were refurbished and rebuilt to bring them back to new condition. New half-moon brushed nickel pulls enhance the country look. The owners love of her original electric stove prompted her to restore it rather than replace it, and it goes very well with the cabinet style. We replaced the existing asphalt circular driveway with a concrete and brick one, which greatly improved the overall look of the exterior. The master suite was exquisitely remodeled using deep green marble slabs for the shower and counter tops. Faux finishes on the walls and cabinets along with near perfect decorating makes it a real showpiece. The kitchen was included in the 1995 Woman's Day Kitchens and Bath Planning Guide.
